One of the various RSS feeds that I subscribe to is the AP Top Strange News feed. Over the past week there have been three stories about cows. That’s right cows. Now I understand that cows escaping could be construed as strange news, but doesn’t it cease to be strange news if it happens three times in one week? It could just be that its a slow news time, I’m not sure what periods are supposed to be slow news points, but isn’t November usually a high news point? Now, I’ll admit, the first story about Cows fleeing after seeing McDonald’s was mildly amusing in a, ‘I don’t know if this is ironic or just funny sort of way’. The other two stories though Cows escape from truck in La. wreck and Cattle Disturb Peace in Western Pa. Town only seem to deserve national coverage on a really, really slow day, even for strange news.
